Harley-Davidson has cut its forecasts for motorcycle shipments in 2019 and reported weaker sales and profit in the second quarter. The American motorcycle brand now expects to ship between 2,12,000 and 2,17,000 bikes this year, down from a previous forecast of 2,17,000 to 2,22,000 motorcycles in April 2019. The latest forecast is considerably lower than its 2019 forecast given a year ago, when the Milwaukee-headquartered motorcycle brand said it expected to ship between 2,31,000 to 2,36,000 bikes in 2019. The Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team has announced a five-member squad for the upcoming Baja Aragon Rally 2019. Scheduled to take place in Spain between July 25-27, 2019, the rally will see factory team's regulars Michael Metge from France and Lorenzo Santolino from Spain participating in the rally, along with the Indian racers - Aravind KP, Aishwarya Pissay and Harith Noah. Pissay has been a part of a number of Baja rallies this year and is currently leading in women's category of the Baja World Championship. India Kawasaki Motor has issued a major recall for 1,358 units of Ninja 300 ABS models which are reported to have an issue with the master cylinder for the front brake. The master cylinder has been manufactured by a company called Endurance. The affected models were manufactured between August 2018 and March 2019. The company says that the primary lip seal on the front brake cylinder is not hard enough and it could peel off when the rider applies the front brake. This could result in reduced effectiveness of the front brake and total loss of brakes as well, which could lead to the crash as well. Triumph Motorcycles has confirmed that a limited edition model based on Triumph's learnings from Moto2 will lead to a production model called the Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition. According to British publication MCN, the new supersport bike will be built in two versions, one for Europe and Asia, and the other for US and Canada. Production for each market will be limited to just 765 bikes, and the new bike will be built around the 765 cc in-line three-cylinder engine that started in the current Triumph Street Triple RS , before the engine was race-tuned and further developed to the single-engine Moto2 championship from 2019. AMW CFMoto, the newly entered Indo-Chinese two-wheeler brand and announced that its next product for the Indian market will be a 400 cc motorcycle. The company, which recently commenced its India operations with four new motorcycles - 300NK , 650NK , 650MT and 650GT , has said that as soon as the Bharat Stage VI (BS6) emission norms kick-in (April 1, 2020), it will bring in the 400 cc motorcycles as well. Currently, the CFMoto's existing models in India are BS4 compliant and are expected to make the shift to BS6 early next year. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced that the company has added 11 milion customers in Western India. The manufacturer crossed the milestone with sales from the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa in its 19th year of operations. It is interesting to note that the sales catapulted in the last decade with the first 5.5 million customers added in 14 years, while the remaining 5.5 million customers joined the Honda family in the last five years.
