Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight Special, Street Glide Special Launch Live Updates: Features, Specifications, Price, Images

The new 2019 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight Special and Street Glide Special are all set to be launched in India today, and we'll be bringing you all the live updates from the launch event here. Compared to the existing Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight, the new Forty-Eight Special gets a slightly larger 1200 cc Evolution engine. The 2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special, on the other hand, also gets a larger v-twin engine, along with a touchscreen infotainment system. Both the motorcycles will replace the existing Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight and Street Glide Special models in India.

Visually, the new H-D Forty-Eight Special will also get new graphics inspired by the 1970s custom motorcycle styling and design. As for the 2019 Street Glide Special, it is a heavy duty bagger and comes with a single tone finish, while the instrument panel, engine cover, exhaust pipes and the front suspension forks are covered in black, while the 2.5 cubic-feet panniers are finished in body colour.

The Forty-Eight Special is powered a 1,202 cc Harley-Davidson Evolution engine that is tuned to develop a peak torque of 98.9 Nm, while the Street Glide Special gets a larger 1,868 cc Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-twin engine which develops 165 Nm at 3,000 rpm. Both bikes come mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Zongshen Cyclone RX6 Based On Norton 650 Nearing Completion

While there still doesn't seem to be a buyer for iconic British brand Norton Motorcycles which went into administration in January this year, the firm's 650 cc parallel-twin seems to be finding life in China. While Norton apparently sold off the engine rights of its 961 engine to China's Jinglang just before the brand went into administration, the deal for the 650 cc engine was finalized way back in 2017 with Chinese giant Zongshen. The 650 cc parallel-twin engine was due to be used in Norton's Atlas and Superlight models, but now it looks like that engine platform will make its debut in a Zongshen motorcycle, called the Cyclone R6. Brixton 1200 To Rival Triumph Bonneville T120

A 1200 cc modern classic with similar design lines as Triumph's iconic Bonneville series, has reportedly been cleared for production. The bike was showcased as a concept at last year's EICMA motorcycle show, and from the looks of it, this is a model developed in China with the Triumph Bonneville T120 in its sights. The Brixton brand though is part of Austria's KSR Group, which imports bikes from several Chinese manufacturers, including CF Moto. And while the new Bonneville rival will be manufactured in China, the design and engineering has been created at KSR's design centre in Krups, Austria.
