Bajaj Registers Highest-Ever Monthly Sales In September 2018; Grows By 17 Per Cent

Bajaj Auto today released its monthly sales numbers for September 2018, and the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer has registered a good 17 per cent growth. Claimed to be its highest-ever monthly sales performance, the company sold 4,30,939 motorcycles last month, against the 3,69,678 units sold in September 2017. The company's domestic sales also saw a double-digit growth of 10 per cent, selling 2,73,029 units, compared to the 2,47,418 motorcycles that were sold during the same month last year. Bajaj 's exports saw the highest growth of 29 per cent, with 1,57,910 motorcycles in September 2018, against the 1,22,260 units that were exported in September 2017. Both domestic sales and exports were also at their monthly high. Triumph Motorcycles will have a busy month in October 2018. Up first is the unveiling of the 2019 models of the Street Twin and the Street Scrambler at the Intermot Motorcycle Show in Germany. These won't be new-generation models but instead facelifts of sorts with updates to looks, features and possibly the engine too. The Street Twin first made its debut in 2016 while the Street Scrambler followed a year later. The Street Scrambler could be called as an off-road biased version of the Street Twin and is inspired from the Triumph TR6C Trophy motorcycle, which was ridden by motorcycle acting legend Steve McQueen in 'The Great Escape'. Hero MotoCorp To Hike Prices From October

Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will be increasing the price of its models in India from next month. Effective from October 3, 2018, prices of all Hero motorcycles and scooters will be hiked by up to Rs. 900, however, Hero says that the exact quantum of the increase will vary, based on the model and the specific market. Talking about the reason for the price hike, Hero MotoCorp said that 'the revision has been necessitated by the increasing commodity costs and currency depreciation.' This is not the first time that Hero MotoCorp has announced a price hike for its motorcycles and scooters this year. Earlier in April 2018 , the two-wheeler manufactures announced an upward revision in prices of its products by up to Rs. 625, in a regulatory filing. Royal Enfield Classic 350 Standard With A Rear Disc Brake Launched

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 standard version has been updated with a rear disc brake, priced at Rs. 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated version comes weeks after the Classic 350 ABS was introduced as part of the new Signals Edition. The company at the time did say that it is in the process of upgrading its entire range to ABS and the rear disc brake version on the base Classic 350 takes a step towards the same. New Hero 200 cc Motorcycle Patent Leaked

Hero MotoCorp seems to have planned more products from its new 200 cc platform, which already has the Hero Xtreme 200R on sale, and the entry-level adventure bike Hero Xpulse 200, which is expected to be launched sometime in December this year. A leaked patent image shows a third bike in Hero's 200 cc platform which could quite possibly sit between the Xtreme 200R and the Xpulse. The bike in the image seems to share quite a few components with the Xpulse 200, including the stubby exhaust, fuel tank and instrument cluster. The round headlamp seems to be shared with the Xpulse as well. There's no information on specifications yet, but it's quite likely that the new bike will share the same 200 cc single-cylinder engine of the Xtreme 200R which makes 18.1 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm, and paired to a five-speed gearbox. Suzuki has released one more teaser video of a new bike to be launched at the Intermot show on October 2. Like the earlier teasers, this one also doesn't reveal much, except that it shows a bit of the fuel tank which will be unveiled in Cologne. Two earlier teaser videos of the new bike were also released but those two didn't even show a motorcycle. The first video shows a swordsmith at work, forging a blade, and the second one shows a sword being put into shape. The only model with a name which is close to a sword is the Suzuki Katana, a model which has come from Suzuki's history from the 1980s. Inspired by the Indian FTR 750 flat-track race bike, Indian Motorcycle will introduce the new FTR 1200 production model on October 1. Sales of the new model will begin in 2019, and it's expected to be introduced in India as well. The FTR 1200 takes inspiration from Indian's history and success in American flat-track racing, and will be a street bike based on the flat-track race bike. The announcement comes after a lot of speculation that a street version of the FTR 750 is in the making.
