Two-Wheeler Sales August 2019: TVS Registers 15.37 Per Cent Decline In Domestic Sales

TVS Motor Company is feeling the ill effects of the slowdown too. The company sold 275,851 units of two-wheelers in August 2019 as compared to 330,076 units in August last year, which is a decline of 15.37 per cent. Domestically, TVS sold 219,528 units in August 2019 against 275,688 units in August 2018, which is a decline of 20.37 per cent. The company sold 109,393 motorcycle units in August 2019 as against sales of 131,743 units in August 2018, which is a drop of almost 17 per cent. The company sold 109,272 units of scooters in August 2019 as compared to sales of 126,676 units in August 2018.

TVS' total exports grew by 6 per cent increasing from 66,028 units in August 2018 to 69,702 units in August 2019. Two-wheeler exports showed a small growth of 4 per cent increasing from 54,388 units in August 2018 to 56,323 units in August 2019. Three-wheeler sales too grew by 11 per cent increasing from 13,141 units in August 2018 to 14,604 units registered in August 2019.
