Bajaj Auto today announced registering a total growth of 30 per cent during the month of July 2018, with 400,343 vehicles, against the 307,727 units the company sold during the same month last year. The company's two-wheeler business also saw a considerable growth of 25 per cent with 332,680 vehicles, compared to the 265,182 two-wheelers sold in July 2017. On the other hand, last month, the company's commercial vehicle sales grew to 67,663 units, against 42,545 units sold in July 2017, registering a growth of a massive 59 per cent, the highest-ever for Bajaj . A camouflaged test mule of the upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 was recently spotted testing in India, and for the first time around the bike has been spied with alloy wheels. Harley-Davidson has announced a complete overhaul of its motorcycle range by venturing into new segments, including an all-new adventure touring model by 2020. Also in the pipeline are two more models, including a middleweight streetfighter and a new Custom model. Harley-Davidson says the company will introduce a "new modular 500 cc to 1250 cc middleweight platform of motorcycles that spans three distinct product spaces and four displacements." The first of these models will be Harley-Davidson's first adventure touring motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250. India Kawasaki Motor (IKM) has discontinued the Versys 1000 tourer from the country, following low demand. The range-topping tourer from the Japanese bike maker never received the BS-IV upgrade, which was introduced in April last year and dealers say no new stock was delivered in the following months. The remaining stocks were sold out last year itself and the Kawasaki Versys 1000 has now been removed from the product listing on the manufacturer's website as well. Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two-wheeler maker is planning to launch new scooters and motorcycles in Iran and Turkey as part of its global expansion strategy. Talking about the company's global expansion plans, Hero said, "In the Middle East, the company plans to launch new products in scooters and entry and premium bike segments in the regional markets, including Turkey and Iran." In addition to that, the home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer is also working on increasing its presence in South Asia. The bikes were raced by Ducati's star riders at the World Ducati Week, the biennial event at the Misano World Circuit. Riders from Ducati's MotoGP and WSBK teams, as well as Ducati icon and Australian championship rider Troy Bayliss participated in the Race of Champions, which was won by Ducati test rider Michele Pirro. Each of the 13 bikes have the rider's race livery and is individually signed by the rider. Honda may introduce two new 650 cc motorcycles, including a new iteration of the Honda Hornet, the original 600 cc naked which has been quite popular in Europe and America. In an interview to French magazine, Moto Revue, Fabrice Recoque, director of the motorcycle division of Honda France has confirmed that Honda will be introducing two new middleweight models, possibly around 650 cc. While Recoque hasn't shared any details of what the bikes will be called, he has said in so many words, that one of the bikes could possibly be a new version of the middleweight Honda Hornet. To a question if Honda has dropped the idea of bringing back the Hornet, Recoque denied it and said instead that two new middleweight bikes will be launched soon, without confirming if it will be called the Hornet. In the second quarter of 2018, Harley-Davidson sold 3,000 fewer motorcycles worldwide than it did in the second quarter of 2017, a decline of 3.6 per cent. In all, in the April to June period of 2018, Harley-Davidson sold 78,428 motorcycles, compared to 81,388 motorcycles in the same period in 2017. Harley-Davidson's international sales however continue to grow, even though marginally, with a 0.7 per cent growth in the second quarter. In Harley-Davidson's most significant international region, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), sales grew by 3.6 per cent.
