Exclusive: 2019 Ducati Diavel 1260 To Be Launched In India Soon

Ducati India may be launching the 2019 Ducati Diavel 1260 very soon. A Carandbike follower has sent us this image of a Ducati Diavel 1260 in a crate which has landed in India, possibly imported from Ducati's factory in Thailand. The Diavel 1260 will be powered by the 1,262 cc, L-twin, DVT, Testastretta engine which puts out 159 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 129 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine now gets variable valve timing and gets a chain final drive for the increased performance.

The 2019 Ducati Diavel 1260 will be an almost all-new bike from the ground up

Sources in Ducati dealerships have confirmed that the outgoing Ducati Diavel has been sold out and is out of stock. The new Diavel 1260 is likely to be launched in India very soon, possibly as early as in June 2019. The new Diavel 1260 has a lot of new components, including the frame, subframe, swingarm, wheels, exhausts, suspension, tail section and bodywork. The Diavel 1260 will replace the outgoing Ducati Diavel which is powered by 1,198 cc, Testastretta L-twin borrowed from the Multistrada 1200. The new Diavel 1260 will be available in two variants - the standard and S variants, with the S variant which gets a LED daytime running light, LED turn indicators.

The base Ducati Diavel misses out on top-spec Ohlins suspension and Brembo M50 calipers

The S model also gets updated suspension (48 mm Ohlins fork and Ohlins monoshock) as well as top-of-the-line Brembo M50 calipers. The standard variant gets a fully adjustable 50 mm upside down fork and preload/rebound adjustable rear shock with Brembo M4.32 calipers gripping twin 320 mm discs. Bosch Cornering ABS Evo is standard. Both variants get a full suite of modern electronics, including three customisable rider modes (Sport, Touring and Urban), the Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch Cornering ABS Evo and Ducati Traction Control Evo) as well as Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducat Power Launch Evo, cruise control and self-cancelling indicators. The S variant also gets standard bi-directional quickshifter and compatibility with the Ducati Multimedia System and Ducati Link App.

The new Ducati Diavel 1260 is expected to be launched by the second half of June 2019, and prices are likely to begin from around Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom), going up to over Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Ducati Diavel 1260 S.
