Two-Wheeler Sales October 2019: Bajaj Sees 14 Per Cent Drop In Domestic Motorcycle Sales

There is little to suggest that the Indian auto industry is reviving from the slowdown. Two-wheeler manufacturers are finding it difficult to shake off the negative growth. The company sold 242,516 units last month as compared to 281,582 units sold in October 2018. KTM 1290 Super Duke R Teased In New Video

Image
KTM has revealed its all-new 1290 Super Duke R in a new teaser video, and this time there's a clear view of the upcoming litre-class streetfighter. The new KTM 1290 Super Duke R will be unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. In the latest video, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer has completely revealed the new 1290 Super Duke R, but it looks like the bike shown in the video is still a prototype. In the video, the motorcycle is shown undergoing test runs on a racetrack, and being a prototype, it misses out on any kind of lights. So, no headlight, taillight or indicators, but the video does give a decent idea about the overall design of KTM's flagship machine. The new KTM 1290 Super Duke R is expected to sport a revised trellis frame as was seen on another test mule back in June, somewhere in the Alps. The new trellis frame will use the engine as a stressed member, and will feature a bolted-on cast alloy sub frame. Visually, there are likely to be some cosmeti

BMW S 1000 RR Recalled For Potential Oil Leak

BMW Motorrad has issued a recall for the 2020 BMW S 1000 RR. The recall is due to a potential oil leak from the bike's oil cooler hoses. As many as 416 motorcycles are affected by the recall, all the bikes sold in the US market this year. As many as two reports, one in Japan and the second in Germany, mention the potential fault discovered by BMW Motorrad. The oil cooler hoses might not be attached to the oil pipes properly which can ultimately result in a leak. The fluid could then potentially drip on the path of the rear wheel and reduce traction. A loss of traction in the rear wheel could result in a crash, and BMW Motorrad USA is recalling the S 1000 RR for the US market. The recall will begin in the US on November 27, 2019. BMW Motorrad dealers will inspect the bikes, replace the oil cooler assembly, including the hoses, free of charge, in the US. Carandbike reached out to BMW Motorrad India if any of the BMW S 1000 RR bikes sold in India could also be affected by the issue,

Husqvarna 901 Svartpilen Spotted On Test

Image
An advanced prototype of the upcoming Husqvarna 901 Svartpilen has been spotted on test in Spain, and pictures as well as a short video of the upcoming bike has been posted by RideApart. The 901 Svartpilen though is only likely to be released as a 2021 model, and will not likely be unveiled in production form at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. At best, we may get to see the upcoming 901 Svartpilen in concept form in Milan. The new Husky seems to be using the same parallel-twin engine from the KTM 790 Duke, but it's still not clear if the engine is the existing motor from the 790 Duke, or the rumoured 890 cc mill KTM is currently working on. Watch the spy video of the rumoured Husqvarna 901 Svartpilen: The new bike has some visible changes from the current 701 Svartpilen. The changes are in the spoked wheels, twin pipes, and high-level exhaust, which do indicate that this may be an all-new model after all, and not just an update. What remains to be seen is if the 901 Sv

2020 Suzuki V-Strom Teased In New Video

Image
Suzuki has released a teaser video of a new motorcycle, and it could very well be the teaser for a new Suzuki V-Strom. The biggest clue that it is indeed a new V-Strom comes from the v-shaped beam of light showed at the beginning of the video clip. Then the video reveals close up shots of what seems to be the silhouette of the new bike. We can see a large screen, fuel tank and hand guards, and also a set of front LED indicators. The right hand side engine casing is also shown then, with a rugged off-road focussed serrated footpeg, complete with thick rubber grip and also an engine bash plate, leaving no doubt that it's an adventure bike which is being teased. Watch the teaser video here: Also Read: Suzuki DR BIG May Be Launched In 2020 The video also shows a pan shot of the tank, as well as part of the beak, finished in a striking orange, red and white livery, which is seen as a reference, or a homage to the 1980s Marlboro-liveried Suzuki DR BIG raced at the Dakar Rally. 2020 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade Spotted On Test

Image
Spy pictures of what appear to be an upcoming Honda superbike have emerged, showing the unnamed and camouflaged test bike being ridden around the Suzuka course in Japan. And it could well be the upcoming, and updated 2020 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. What is not clear is if the test mule is the road-going production model of the new Fireblade, or if it's one of the 2020 Honda Racing Corporation race-spec bikes. The suspension and braking components on the front end appear to be race-spec high-end parts, hinting to the possibility that the test bike could be a race-bike more than the road-legal Fireblade. The test mule is likely to be a race-spec bike used in WSBK, or a top-spec variant of the new CBR1000RR The Brembo brake calipers on the front end look to be race-spec, usually used in bikes used in MotoGP and WSBK. The rear set pegs are also race-spec items, and single-piece aluminium units. The twin-spar aluminium frame looks very similar to the one on the outgoing model, but
