Ducati Panigale V2 Unveiled At World Ducati Premiere

The Ducati Panigale V2 gets updated styling more in line with the Ducati Panigale V4 model, and will be a 'more approachable' model in the Panigale family. The Panigale V2 will be the updated new entry-level Panigale model, and will replace the Ducati 959 Panigale. The bodywork, and front fairing looks very similar to the larger Panigale V4, and the V2 also gets the single-sided swingarm of the Panigale V4. The new Panigale V2 also features the same electronics suite as the bigger Panigale V4, and gets a reworked traction control system that is said to eliminate some of the skipping that is felt on the current 959 Panigale.

It may be the entry-level model, but it promises to have more than enough performance, even for experienced riders. The engine has been revised and is a Euro 5 compliant 955 cc Superquaddro v-twin unit which now produces 155 bhp at 10,750 rpm and peak torque of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. And all this from a bike with a dry weight of 153 kg!

Fully-adjustable suspension is standard, but electronics suspension is reserved for the Panigale V4

The electronics package includes IMU-assisted traction control, called the Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, wheelie control, and cornering ABS. Also included is a bi-directional up/down quickshifter as well as engine braking control. The new Panigale V2 features Showa Big Piston Forks up front, with a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear, with a steering damper. Electronic suspension is not offered on the Panigale V2. Braking is handled by Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers and Brembo master cylinders with twin 320 mm discs on the front wheel.
