2019 TVS Apache RTR 200 FI E100 Launched In India At Rs. 1.2 Lakh

TVS Motor Company took the wraps off its first ever Ethanol run motorcycle, which is the TVS Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 ! The motorcycle has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will be initially launched in the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V FI Ethanol was first shown as a concept at the 2018 Auto Expo, held in February 2019 and now, the production version of the motorcycle is finally here. The Ethanol run Apache 200 gets the same design as its petrol-powered sibling apart from the green decals on the fuel tank.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 Ethanol gets an E100 200 cc single-cylinder engine which has a power output of 20.7 bhp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 18.1 Nm at 7000 rpm. TVS claims a top speed of 129 kmph. The ethanol powered Apache gets electronic fuel injection with twin-spray-twin-port system that ensures better power delivery while burning cleaner and emitting up to 50 per cent less Benzene and Butadiene gases.

There is a rising need for vehicles on alternate fuels and one such eco-friendly bio-fuel is Ethanol. It is manufactured from plant residue such as sugarcane molasses and sorghum and is significantly cleaner than fossil fuels. Ethanol is basically a oxygenated fuel blend of alcohol and gasoline which gives a higher octane number at lower costs and has cleaner combustion too. Using Ethanol as a fuel reduces the emission of Carbon Monoxide by up to 35 per cent. There is a significant reduction in the emission of Sulphur Dioxide and particulate matter too. Since, it is manufactured from renewable plant resources, Ethanol is bio-degradable and increased usage of Ethanol can reduce the import of petroleum on a larger scale as well.

Brixton 1200 To Rival Triumph Bonneville T120

A 1200 cc modern classic with similar design lines as Triumph's iconic Bonneville series, has reportedly been cleared for production. The bike was showcased as a concept at last year's EICMA motorcycle show, and from the looks of it, this is a model developed in China with the Triumph Bonneville T120 in its sights. The Brixton brand though is part of Austria's KSR Group, which imports bikes from several Chinese manufacturers, including CF Moto. And while the new Bonneville rival will be manufactured in China, the design and engineering has been created at KSR's design centre in Krups, Austria. Zongshen Cyclone RX6 Based On Norton 650 Nearing Completion

While there still doesn't seem to be a buyer for iconic British brand Norton Motorcycles which went into administration in January this year, the firm's 650 cc parallel-twin seems to be finding life in China. While Norton apparently sold off the engine rights of its 961 engine to China's Jinglang just before the brand went into administration, the deal for the 650 cc engine was finalized way back in 2017 with Chinese giant Zongshen. The 650 cc parallel-twin engine was due to be used in Norton's Atlas and Superlight models, but now it looks like that engine platform will make its debut in a Zongshen motorcycle, called the Cyclone R6.
