Two-Wheeler Sales June 2019: Bajaj Auto's Overall Sales Stay Flat

Bajaj Auto had flat sales in June 2019, selling 199,340 motorcycles domestically as compared to 200,949 units sold in June 2018, with the total sales decreasing by 1 per cent. The company also registered a decent 11 per cent growth in two-wheeler exports in June 2019. The company exported 151,951 units in June 2019 as compared to 136,803 units exported in June 2018. Overall, Bajaj Auto sold 351,291 units in June 2019 which is a growth of 4 per cent over the 337,452 unit sales of June 2018. Coming to commercial vehicles, the company sold 29,885 units in June 2019, which is a drop of 11 per cent from 33,627 units sold in June 2018. Bajaj Auto exported 23,448 units last month against 33,050 units exported in June 2018, which is a significant drop of 29 per cent. In total, the company sold 53,333 units in June 2019 as compared to 66,677 which is a drop of 20 per cent in overall sales of Bajaj's commercial vehicles. BMW Motorrad , the two-wheeler arm of German luxury carmaker BMW group, expects India to become its number three market in Asia Pacific, China, Russia and Africa region this year on the back of good traction for its bikes, a senior company official said Thursday. The company launched its all-new BMW S 1000 RR superbike on Thursday priced between Rs. 8.50 lakh and Rs. 22.95 lakh (ex-showroom), is seeking to tap the rising population of young motorcycle enthusiasts in India. "India is climbing the ladder very fast. We hope it to be number three this year. Last year it was number five," BMW Motorrad Head of Asia-Pacific, China, Russia and Africa, Dmitris Raptis told PTI. Honda CB300R Recalled In The US

American Honda Motor Co. has issued a voluntary recall for the Honda CB300R in the US. The recall was filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and states that the affected motorcycles may have gear misalignment owing to the detachment of circlip. A total of 3898 Honda motorcycles have been recalled in the US and includes the 2019 CB300R, 2018 CBR300R, 2018 CRF250L, 2018 CRF250L Rally, and the 2018-2019 CMX300. The recall process began on June 28, 2019. The Husqvarna EE5 is an electric dirt bike for young riders, similar to 50 cc dirt bikes with internal combustion engines. The EE5 packs a 5 kW peak mid-drive electric motor with six different riding modes to allow riders to select the proper profile for their skill level. Easy riding will allow riders to ride for up to 2 hours, while Expert mode with the bike pushed to its limits will see the battery run for around 25 minutes. CFMoto To Start India Operations With 4 Motorcycles; Launch Date Announced

Chinese-motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto has announced it will be introducing four motorcycles in India on July 4, 2019. The bike maker has tied up with Bangalore-based AMW Motorcycles to establish its presence in the country and will be competing in the middleweight segment. It is to be noted that the company AMW Motorcycles is independent of AMW (Asia MotorWorks) Motors that manufactures commercial vehicles. The four CFMoto motorcycles that will land upon the Indian shores are the 300NK, 650NK, 650MT and the 650GT. The bikes have been designed in Austria and are manufactured in China. It has been the cornerstone for the company's sales in the 100 - 110 cc segments and even after five years, it continues to rake in good numbers for Bajaj Auto . BMW Motorrad has launched the new-generation S 1000 RR superbike in India with prices starting at Rs. 18.50 Lakh and going all the way up to Rs. 22.95 Lakh. First showcased at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show, the new S 1000 RR is an all-new model ground up and in its third generation. The new S 1000 RR gets new body work and a new engine as well. The styling is now sharper than before thanks to new panels but the superbike loses its trademark asymmetrical headlamps which became kind of iconic since the S 1000 RR was first launched in 2009. Sweden-based Regent Motorcycles is an electric motorcycle manufacturer that recently showcased the company's first product - the retro-styled Regent No. 1 electric motorcycle. The production prototype was unveiled on May 10, 2019 at the MC Massan Swedish Motorcycle Fair, and encouraged by the response the Regent No. 1 received at that event, the company now intends to ramp up production for a commercial launch of the Regent No. 1 by May 2020. The bike is priced at 9,500 Euros (around Rs. 7.5 lakh) with a 10 per cent discount for the first 100 bikes and Regent is already accepting pre-orders on the company's website. The FUELL Fluid electric bike is the first product from the new company spearheaded by motorcycle engineer Erik Buell. Buell was a former engineer with Harley-Davidson, and had founded his own motorcycle brand, the Buell Motorcycle Company and later Erik Buell Racing. The new company, called FUELL, is a partnership between Erik Buell and two other entities, Vanguard Motorcycles and Spark Racing Technology. KTM RC 125 Deliveries Begin Across India

Deliveries for the entry-level, full-faired KTM RC 125 have begun in India. The baby KTM RC 125 is the brand's smallest full faired offering and shares its underpinnings with the KTM 125 Duke. The RC 125 is priced at an introductory price of Rs. 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom India). The KTM Rc 125 takes on the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 at its price point, and it will be interesting to see if customers flock to the KTM dealerships instead of Yamaha for a small capacity track tool. The RC is about Rs. 7000 more expensive than the R15, and is about Rs. 17,000 more expensive than the 125 Duke. It is confirmed! The Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro will be launched in India on July 9, 2019. Upon launch, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro will be the flagship Ducati ADV in India. The1260 Enduro will have the same 1,262 cc Testastretta DVT engine which pumps out 156 bhp and 127 Nm of peak torque. Like the standard 1260, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro will offer up to 85 per cent of torque available from as low as 3,500 rpm. The road from Marbella up the mountains towards Rhonda and then snaking back up east through the Sierra Blanca mountains has to be one of the best motorcycling routes I have ever ridden on, on more than one occasion. This time around, my companion is the new Ducati Diavel 1260 S, the top-spec variant of the new Ducati Diavel 1260. Chasing corner after corner around the limestone mountains, a series of left, right, left corners with tight spaces for overtaking, I soon forgot that the bike I'm riding is supposed to be something of a cruiser. Nope, this is anything but a cruiser in the conventional sense.
