BMW Motorrad To Introduce Radar-Based Adaptive Cruise Control

BMW Motorrad will introduce a new, high-tech, radar-guided adaptive cruise control system for motorcycles, and has released details on how the system will work. The Active Cruise Control (ACC) system, as it's called, has been developed with Bosch and will allow the rider to not just set a cruising speed, but also a distance from the vehicle ahead. The distance is detected using a radar sensor at the front of the motorcycle, and this information, along with yaw rate and current vehicle speed calculates the likely path the motorcycle will take in the next 100 metres and if necessary, modulate speed to avoid a potential collision. Hero Xtreme 160R Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 99,950

Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched the all-new Hero Xtreme 160R in India. The front disc variant is priced at Rs. 99,950 while the dual disc variant is priced at Rs. 103,500. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The Hero Xtreme 160R was first showcased in February 2020 at the Hero World 2020 event. The Hero Xtreme 160R is inspired by the Hero Xtreme 1.R concept motorcycle that was showcased at the 2019 EICMA Motorcycle Show. The motorcycle was listed on the company's website for a while now. In fact, Hero began online registrations for test rides of the motorcycle as well. The despatches of the motorcycle have already begun. Latest patent filings from Kawasaki explains how the bike gathers information from its surroundings using lasers, cameras, and intelligent satellite navigation. So, instead of the bike's electronics, including the anti-lock brakes and traction control system and electronic suspension reacting to changes on what is around the motorcycle, the new patent explains how this hi-tech system can predict what is going to happen and take measures accordingly. 2020 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports Deliveries Begin In India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has begun the deliveries of the 2020 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports in India. There are two variants of the motorcycle on sale in India, one with a 6-speed manual gearbox and one with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Both models are priced at Rs. 15.35 lakh and Rs. 16.10 lakh, respectively. Launched in March 2020, the updated Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sport is now finally being delivered to customers. HMSI handed the keys over to the first customer at its Honda BigWing showroom in Gurugram, Haryana. First Ducati Superleggera V4 Delivered To Customer At Borgo Panigale

The first of the 500 limited edition Ducati Superleggera V4 motorcycles, has been officially delivered to its new owner from Belgium, Filip Van Schil. Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali personally delivered model number 001/500 and the certificate of authenticity of the Superleggera V4 to Van Schil at the Ducati factory at Borgo Paniglae. Van Schil, who already owns nine other Ducati bikes, was invited to the Borgo Panigale factory for a special tour, in which he was able to see up close the line where his motorbike was built and meet the worker who built the engine. Honda 2Wheelers India Offers Extension On Purchase Of Optional Warranty

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced an extension in the enrollment period for purchasing its extended warranty. Buyers can now purchase the extended warranty for up to three years within 550 days from the day of purchase of their motorcycle or scooter. Previously, Honda two-wheelers owners had to purchase the extended warranty within 365 days from the day of purchase of their model. This means that the optional extended warranty is also available for owners with vehicles that are less than 1.5 years old. The 78th edition of the motorcycle show was scheduled between November 3 to 8, 2020, in the halls of Fiera Milano, in Milan. However, the annual motorcycle show has been postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Italy has been one of the worst-affected countries by COVID-19 and the extended travel restrictions, as well as social distancing protocols, have made it difficult to host events that would warrant mass gatherings. NYC Legalises Electric Bikes And Scooters, Will Create e-Scooter Pilot Program

The New York City Council on Thursday approved several bills that will legalise the private use of electric scooters and bicycles in the city's five boroughs, a change long-sought by food delivery workers and transportation advocates. The city will also create a shared electric scooter pilot program that will allow e-scooter companies to apply for permits to operate in the city, with the exception of Manhattan. E-scooter companies have long complained about not being allowed to operate in the largest U.S. city, with more than eight million residents, while permitted in dozens of other U.S. cities. The pilot program is scheduled to start by May 2021 and is expected to last no more than two years, according to the bill. Scooter placement should focus on areas underserved by the city's docked bike-share program, Citi Bike, which is operated by Lyft Inc. The Pensions Ombudsman in the UK has directed former Chief Executive Officer of Norton Motorcycles, Stuart Garner to pay back around 14 million GBP from the retirement funds he was the trustee of. The Pensions Ombudsman, an independent organisation set up by law to investigate complaints and disputes about pension schemes, ruled that Garner was 'dishonest' in his running of the schemes following a lengthy investigation. Garner, who acquired the classic motorcycle brand in 2008, had been under investigation following claims brought initially by 30 members of three retirement funds he set up and ran, that he had repeatedly failed to return their funds when they were due. Aston Martin and Brough Superior have started testing a prototype of the AMB 001, an exclusive turbocharged, track-only motorcycle. Deliveries for the AMB 001 are expected to begin sometime by the end of 2020, and only 100 bikes will be built. The AMB 001 will be priced at 1,08,000 Euros (over Rs. 91.56 lakh under current exchange rates), and features a turbocharged 997 cc V-Twin motor with 180 bhp of power.
