Technical details and specifications of the upcoming 2019 BMW S 1000 RR have been leaked online, and if these specs are genuine, it seems the updated BMW S 1000 RR will get more technology and make more power than the outgoing model. For starters, the 2019 BMW S 1000 RR gets a new engine - a 999 cc, in-line four cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with what BMW calls ShiftCam variable valve technology. The rated output, according to the leaked specs, is 207 bhp at 13,500 rpm and peak torque of 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. The ShiftCam technology is essentially BMW Motorrad's unique variable valve technology which debuted earlier this year on the new BMW R 1250 GS. Eicher Motors Says Labour Strife Hurt Royal Enfield Production

India's Eicher Motors Ltd said on Wednesday strike at one of its southern Indian facility led to a slump in production of 25,000 motorcycles in September-October, after a part of its workforce "stayed away" from work. Workers at the facility of Eicher Motors, best known for its Royal Enfield motorcycles, saw a part of their workforce walkout last month demanding higher pay, job security and a right to form unions to collectively bargain. The facility in Oragadam, situated in Tamil Nadu, remained operational through October, and a majority of the workforce continues to report to work, Eicher said. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R Pre-Bookings Open In India

India Kawasaki Motor (IKM) continues its aggressive expansion of the product line-up in the country and has commenced accepting bookings for the Ninja ZX-6R supersport motorcycle. Dealers across the country are accepting bookings for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R for a token amount of Rs. 1.5 lakh, between October 31 and November 30, 2018; while the launch is expected around December this year. Deliveries for the new Ninja ZX-6R though will only start by January 2019. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R will be coming to the country as a Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) unit, and will be brought in limited numbers. The company, however, has not revealed the number of units that have been allocated for India. MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa To Join KTM As Test Rider In 2019

Having announced his retirement from MotoGP at the end of this season, Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa has announced he will be joining KTM as a test rider in 2019. The 31-time MotoGP race winner has signed a two-year deal with the Austrian manufacturer, which his first move outside Honda, having spent his entire career with the Japanese team. Pedrosa retired from the sport after spending 13 years and becoming one of the most respected riders across the grid. Over the years, the bike has undergone quite a few changes and became a loved motorcycle with the commuter motorcycle buying audience in India. Harley-Davidson has ordered a massive recall on 2,38,300 motorcycles worldwide for a clutch problem, and it's the fourth recall for a clutch issue in the past five years. According to Harley-Davidson, the recall will cost about $35 million, although the cost of the recall will not be borne by Harley-Davidson entirely, as the issue arose with a third-party supplied component. The voluntary safety recall includes all model-year 2017 and 2018 Touring, Trike and CVO Touring models, as well as some 2017 Softail models. Bajaj Building New Motorcycle Factory In Mexico

Bajaj Auto is building a new factory in Lerma, State of Mexico, with a capacity of 50,000 units a year. Bajaj, India's largest motorcycle exporter, has recently signed an agreement with the Surman Group to build the factory in Mexico. The Surman Group will be Bajaj Auto's official distributors, and the production from the new factory will be exclusively for the Mexican market. Over the past few months, since August 2018, the Surman Group has reportedly sold 1,500 Bajaj motorcycles in Mexico, and the company estimates that next year, sales will reach 36,000 units. "We haven't determined the complete amount of investment. It's a totally new factory, and we're in the process of installing the tools," Olaf Sarabia, Director of MotoDrive, part of the Surman Group is quoted as having said in latest reports of Bajaj Auto's latest overseas venture. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE will be raced at the historic Baja 1000 desert endurance event, piloted by stuntman and experienced off-road and desert racer Ernie Vigil. The news comes just after the bike has been officially unveiled, and the Baja 1000 event, in the California Baja peninsula of Mexico, will be held from November 14-18, 2018. The race bike is almost stock except for the addition of engine protection bars, an extended sump guard and race-specification lighting, and a race exhaust system and tuning. The front and rear turn indicators will be removed, as well as the pillion footpegs. Bajaj Auto has recently increased the price of its flagship motorcycle, the Bajaj Dominar 400, for the fourth time this year. This time around, the power cruiser received a hike of Rs. 1,000, bringing the current price of the ABS version of the Dominar to Rs. 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Interestingly enough, Bajaj's official website also shows the revised price for the now discontinued non-ABS version of the bike, which also seems to have received a hike of Rs. 1,000, now costing Rs. 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, both the company as well as Bajaj dealers have confirmed that the non-ABS version is no longer in production, and it could be there because of a technical error, but, dealers who have the bike in stock are still selling them. In a massive boost to both Yamaha and Maverick Vinales, the young rider took a dominant win in the 2018 Australian MotoGP Grand Prix at Phillip Island, ending the team's 25-race winless streak in the premier class. Vinales took a comfortable win over Suzuki's Andrea Iannone, by a margin of 1.5s, while runner-up contender Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati finished third. Fresh off his championship victory celebrations at Motegi last week, Marc Marquez of Honda had a nasty crash with Johann Zarco at almost 300 kmph. Fortunately, both riders escaped the incident unhurt. TVS Expands Product Portfolio in Argentina With Apache RR 310, Apache 200 4V And NTorq 125

Hosur-based two-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company has announced the expansion of its product range in the Latin American market of Argentina with its new premium scooters and motorcycles. The manufacturer showcased its offerings at the Salon Internacional de la Motocicleta Argentina 2018 held in Buenos Aires, which include the TVS NTorq 125 , TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the TVS Apache RR 310 supersport offering. Triumph Scrambler 1200 To Be Launched In India Next Year In XC Trim

The all-new 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 was revealed earlier this week and the model is scheduled to make its way to markets globally by early next year. The British off-roader motorcycle brings a host of electronics to the segment, while keeping the minimalism intact, which will set it apart from its rivals in this segment. With the Indian launch expected in early 2019 as well, carandbike can now confirm that the new Triumph Scrambler 1200 will be arriving in the base XC trim first. The Scrambler 1200 XC is the "all-rounder" variant, while the XE version has been packaged to be more off-road friendly. This means that the Scrambler 1200 XC misses out on certain hardware over the XE. Ducati India is expected to substantially increase prices of the flagship superbike, the Panigale V4 and the Panigale V4S. Carandbike has learnt that there has been considerable interest in Ducati's flagship sportbike in India. A source in the know has revealed to Carandbike that the entire first lot of Panigale V4 bikes earmarked for the Indian marked have all been already sold or booked. Now, prices for both the Ducati Panigale V4 and the Ducati Panigale V4S models are expected to get a 'substantial' increase from January 2019. The Ducati Panigale V4 is the first production Ducati to use a four-cylinder engine. The V4 engine of the Panigale V4 has been derived from the MotoGP Desmosedici with the exact same 81 mm bore, but with a longer 53.5 mm stroke. The 1,103 cc, 90-degree, V4 engine puts out 211 bhp at 13,000 rpm and peak torque of 124 Nm at 10,000 rpm. The engine has a counter rotating crankshaft which neutralises the gyroscopic effects of a fast moving sportbike.
