Intermot 2018: 2019 Triumph Street Scrambler Revealed
The 2019 Triumph Street Scrambler also gets the upgraded 900 cc, which now makes 64 bhp at 7500 rpm, an 18 per cent increase in power over the outgoing model. The Street Scrambler is based on the Street Twin, but offers additional off-road capability. The 900 cc parallel-twin High Torque Bonneville engine has been updated for 2019 with a lighter crankshaft, magnesium cam cover, a new lighter clutch and mass optimised clutch cover. The ride-by-wire throttle control system now offers two riding modes - Road and Rain, with separate throttle maps and traction control settings. ABS is switchable for off-road use.
Like the 2019 Street Twin, the Street Scrambler also gets updated brakes with a four-piston Brembo caliper gripping the single front disc. Suspension has been updated too, with cartridge type front forks with 120 mm of travel, and the fork legs are spaced out wider to deliver a tougher appearance for this off-road friendly modern classic when viewed from the front. The 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel are shod with Metzeler Tourance rubber. The styling of the instruments have been updated as well, while new side panels feature a new logo.
The seat is new as well, and finished in a combination of textile and leather. The 2019 Triumph Street Scrambler is available with over 120 accessories and it will be available in three colours. Triumph also offers a custom kit called the Urban Tracker kit which includes soft panniers, Vance & Hines slip-on silencers, CNC machined black oil filler cap, black handlebar brace, number board kit, ribbed bench seat, black dresser bar kit, headlight grille and bezel, high front fender and sump guard kit. The 2019 Triumph Street Twin and Triumph Street Scrambler will be introduced in India by the first quarter of 2019.
