2019 BMW S 1000 RR Spotted Testing

Advanced prototypes of the all-new 2019 BMW S 1000 RR, which is expected to be unveiled, next month at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, has been spotted in Spain. The prototypes are seen in several different colours, and the spy shots confirm that the new model will have the all-new styling that was seen on the patent images revealed earlier. The new model will see a few design changes, most prominent of those being the departure from the asymmetrical headlights to a more conventional dual headlight design.

The gill-like vents on the fairing have been carried forward from the outgoing model, and overall, the 2019 S 1000 RR looks more compact than the outgoing model. The engine, chassis and suspension are expected to be all updated, and the new model is expected to get significantly upgraded. Under the skin, the in-line four engine is expected to get a counter rotating crankshaft, with a power output of well over 210 bhp. That will put the S 1000 RR in the league of the Ducati Panigale V4 S, and the engine on the new model is also expected to get variable valve timing.

The frame is expected to be all-new too, and overall the new 2019 BMW S 1000 RR looks more lithe and compact than the outgoing model. We expect a lot of updated on the electronics and suspension package too, and more details will be available when the bike is unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan in early November.

Zongshen Cyclone RX6 Based On Norton 650 Nearing Completion

While there still doesn't seem to be a buyer for iconic British brand Norton Motorcycles which went into administration in January this year, the firm's 650 cc parallel-twin seems to be finding life in China. While Norton apparently sold off the engine rights of its 961 engine to China's Jinglang just before the brand went into administration, the deal for the 650 cc engine was finalized way back in 2017 with Chinese giant Zongshen. The 650 cc parallel-twin engine was due to be used in Norton's Atlas and Superlight models, but now it looks like that engine platform will make its debut in a Zongshen motorcycle, called the Cyclone R6. Brixton 1200 To Rival Triumph Bonneville T120

A 1200 cc modern classic with similar design lines as Triumph's iconic Bonneville series, has reportedly been cleared for production. The bike was showcased as a concept at last year's EICMA motorcycle show, and from the looks of it, this is a model developed in China with the Triumph Bonneville T120 in its sights. The Brixton brand though is part of Austria's KSR Group, which imports bikes from several Chinese manufacturers, including CF Moto. And while the new Bonneville rival will be manufactured in China, the design and engineering has been created at KSR's design centre in Krups, Austria.
