Honda Activa 125 Prices Hiked; Now Starts At Rs. 68,042

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has silently hiked prices for the Activa 125. The Honda Activa 125 is now priced from Rs. 68,042, going up to Rs. 75,042 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The price increase is that of Rs. 552 across all three variants of the scooter, namely Drum, Alloy and Disc options. The Activa 125 was the company's first BS6 compliant two-wheeler and was introduced in September last year. It marked a major overhaul for the Activa line-up as a whole with a new frame, heavily revised engine and a host of new features.

The Honda Activa 125 come with a new and larger frame that brings more ground clearance, floor space and a longer seat. Power comes from an updated 124 cc single-cylinder engine that now comes with fuel-injection and develops about 8 bhp and 10.3 Nm of peak torque. The scooter also comes with friction reduction technology to maximise efficiency, and is equipped with Honda Eco Technology (HET) and Honda Enhanced Smart Power (eSP). The scooter also get the new ACG silent start system with the one-touch function.

Other features on the Honda Activa 125 include LED headlamp, LED position lights, semi-digital instrument console, metal body, side stand engine cut-off and more. The scooter rides on alloy wheels, offered as an option and gets a front disc brake too. The Combi-braking system (CBS) is standard on the model. The Activa 125 competes in the fast-growing 125 cc scooter segment and locks horns against the TVS NTorq, Suzuki Access, Hero Destini 125 and more in the segment.

Honda 850 cc Parallel-Twin Engine Revealed In Patent Filings

Latest patent images from Japan seem to indicate that Honda may be working on an all-new 850 cc, parallel-twin engine. And the new engine, with more displacement to meet the Euro 5 emission regulations, will replace the current engine on the Honda NC750 range, with the engine and chassis shares amongst several Honda models including the Honda NC750S naked bike, the NC750D Integra scooter, the NC750X adventure tourer, as well as the Honda X-ADV adventure scooter. None of these models are offered on sale in India, but with new emission regulations looming around the corner in Europe, Honda is possibly looking to explore an increase in displacement to meet those norms. Indian FTR 1200 Rally Revealed

Indian Motorcycle took the wraps off the Indian FTR 1200 Rally, which is an off-road biased version of the standard Indian FTR 1200 . The FTR 1200 Rally looks more of a scrambler than a flat-tracker and boy, does it look good! There are a few changes on the Rally compared to the standard model such as ProTaper handlebars, which are 50 mm higher. This results in a more upright seating position. The alloy wheels are swapped out for Aluminium spoke wheels wrapped in knobby Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber. The FTR 1200 Rally also gets a new Titanium smoke paint scheme along with the Indian headdress logo along with a brown seat, giving the motorcycle a stripped out retro look.
